Updated: Sep 20

Use some of these questions for practise before your interview.

Interview Questions

These are interview questions where you don’t usually need to provide examples. Generally, interviewers want to understand your motivation for applying, what you know about their company and why you're looking for another job. They're not trying to catch you out, so just be honest with your answers.

1. Tell us about yourself (see separate post on What's an Elevator Pitch)

2. Why have you applied for this job/what interests you about this job?

3. What do you know about our company?

4. Why do you think you’re the best person for this role?

5. Why do you want to work here?

6. What would you bring to our company if we were to employ you?

7. What motivates you at work? What demotivates you at work?

8. What are your top 3 work strengths?

9. What are your weaknesses or areas you need to develop?

10. What are you passionate about?

11. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

12. What do you enjoy most in your current role?

13. What do like least in your current role?

14. How do you handle stress? How would we know you were stressed?

15. What’s been your greatest achievement – work or personal?

16. Why are you leaving your current role?
